What is our shoe fitting philosophy?
Good news for runners: You do not need to change your shoe style as you advance in the sport. There are no experience levels when it comes to fit. What we focus on is finding the perfect fit for you, factoring in foot shape, biomechanics, muscle factors and training regimens are the keys to a proper fit, so that you can participate in your sport at your own pace.
Before we slip the first pair of shoes on your feet, we’ll have a discussion about your training. Knowing what activities you are involved in will help us deliver a more focused array of high-quality shoes to meet your activity needs.
Next we’ll talk to you about any current or previous injuries, as that also may have an impact on the support your feet and ankles need to perform.
We’re not ready to fit you yet! Next we’ll measure and analyze your foot. The bone structure of your foot, the height of your arches, the length and width are all factors in narrowing our selection of high-quality shoes to find the perfect pair of shoes with the perfect fit for your feet.
Whether your activity plans involve running or walking, we’ll ask you to walk on an in-store treadmill during which we analyze the movement of the bones of your feet to determine if you pronate or supinate in your movement. This will guide us to shoes that offer the necessary control for your movement.
Next is the part we’ve all been waiting for: examining the possibilities to find the right shoe. Based on the information we’ve gathered on you, we will offer our expertise to suggest shoes that we feel are the best fit for you. You are then able to choose from the best, most individualized options.
The ultimate choice is yours, however, we strive to provide a number of possibilities to try so that you can choose the most comfortable for you. Our goal is to ensure you are happy with your choice and best prepared for your activity.
